Juag Lagoon Marine Sanctuary

Juag Lagoon Marine Sanctuary is the dream and passion of Alex Geneblazo. His love for the marine environment led him to build an enclosure within Juag Lagoon that would allow aquatic species to grow and spawn in a protected habitat. Although the enclosure looks like a fish farm, the animals within are not raised for commercial purposes, but rather for the education and enjoyment of the public.

The visitor will be taken from the entrance to a bamboo structure containing several enclosures. As the raft slowly glides across the crystalline water, be sure to look at the coral fish trailing behind. Each of the enclosures holds different types of marine life: from lobsters and giant clams to grouper.

Alex and his family are the sole inhabitants, caretakers and welcoming staff of the sanctuary. They have lived in the area their whole lives and currently reside on the banks of the island overlooking Juag Lagoon.

There is no admission fee to visit the sanctuary although donations are encouraged.
